Kelly O’Neill (formerly Kelly Young) is a patient advocate providing ways for patients to be better informed and have a greater voice in their healthcare. Kelly is the founder of the Rheumatoid Patient Foundation (RPF), a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of people living with rheumatoid disease, engaging in research, education, and advocacy. Kelly served as an advisor to the Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media and participated as a patient advocate with various agencies including FDA, PCORI, and HHS. Her drive to provide patient perspective is fueled by the challenges she encountered after her Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosis in 2006. Kelly has personally written over 1000 articles about RA and healthcare, published on RA Warrior and in medical journals and health magazines.
